hi all. just wondering if i am able to record voice or whatever from my keyboard mic in?i can record the general keyboard sounds into cubase , can i also connect a mic into the keyboard mic in and record it to cubase?keyboard is connected via USB.

i believe it is MIDI.though it just says USB in and out.i been recording the keyboard on an instrument track and using a VST in cubase.

also i am wondering why if i try to record the built in drum beats on the keyboard , they are not picked up/recording in cubase.i am able to record drum beats if i manually play them on the keyboard keys but not built in rhythms. is it a copywrite thing or something?

IF it's MIDI out from the keyboard, then the answer is 'no' - you cannot use it to record the microphone or the built-in rhythm machine - neither of those 'devices' is being translated into MIDI data (Midi is data, not sound) to the computer.
You need an audio interface, then you can route the audio out from the keyboard and record the rhythm machine that way. Plug the mic directly into the interface, as well.
