So, I'm working on the scratch tracks for our next praise CD... Here's another one...

You're Worthy Of My Praise (originally recorded by Jeremy Camp; but a somewhat different arrangement...)

Still is getting brass, a lot of extra percussion, a B3... This is very raw, unmastered, but I'm in love with the drum and bass parts.

Lots of bonus points to anyone who can figure out exactly where my arranging/playing influence came from on this one... :)

You know something??? I really am starting to hate you....You piss me off. You post this shit that just depresses me and I have nothing to criticise. Especially since you posted in my thread and had a bit of criticism, so I come here ready to throw out some wisdom....Only to have nothing to say other than, it's freaking awesome man...Seriously, I'm not just being polite...it's groove city....How can i say anything other than I hate you...Which isn't even true because I love you, and I love your talent...the drumming is obviously awesome, that goes without saying....but the bass playing is making me really drool. There is nothing wrong with this track in my half deaf ears. Forget about all that "I hate you " crap...I love you...I'm just freaking jealous.
 
Man this is cool, very good sound, and the bass player is really showing off. I love it, very fresh playing.

defenitly a cool tune, the drums are cool as well, very intresting playing.

I cant say anything to crtitisize, except were are the vox :D :D :cool:

You`re skilled man. :)
 
Yeah i mean all i can really do is repeat whats already been said, but yeah that bass really sticks out. Great playing all around. hope to hear more soon. Take care

Wow, thanks, really!!! Don't be jealous, because you're absolutely brilliant, and I'm equally jealous of you. I rejoice that we are two people that do a lot of the same things, but yet we each have our own signature sound, that is worlds apart from the other. You do things with rock that I can't even express mentally, much less execute. I think this is only the second recordign in my life wherre I had a distortion pedal on the guitar; I was expecting retina-searing levels of diss on the guitar. :) I'm trying to learn to "rawk", ya know? Baby steps... But seriously, thanks very much. We gotta find a way to come to a stylistic middle ground and collab on something fun. You'd have to break your "no keys" rule though. :) :) :eek:

Thanks a ton, my friend. The vox are coming. There are 9 singers in the band, and a 4 man horn section to add. You may not have realized this yet, but I'm like Rami (well, except he's a rocker and he's talented ;) ) in that I
m playing everything. Bass is actually my primary instrument. I like playing drums most; it's just the most fun, but if pressed, I'd have to admit I'm at a higher level on bass than any of the other instruments. The vox will not be as polished as the instruments, as the group is all volunteer, non-audition. If someone wants to sing, they can sing. So, we have a vocal talent spread ranging from "pretty decent" to "utterly tone deaf". :)

No takers on the style influence?? Hint: tight, pristinely produced rock band from the late 70s early 80s, drummer is dead now.

Nice job!

One thing I would like see is maybe a little more presence in the drums.

Nice playing, though.

If you want brass added to this, I'd be happy to oblige.

Thanks very much, by the way, for the offer. We have a 4 man horn section that will be doing the parts, but I have other things, if you're willing.. ;) :D

And there will be more presence in the drums, this was just a straight dump and raw mix, it's very botom heavy and completely unmastered...

Toto is an exelent band, very nice and tidy recordings.
I love that, in a recording and yours shine through with the same qualities.

I have a sister, who`s heavily into praise, I`m sure she would like to try some vox on this if your intrested? :)

Bass; Youn the bass player, man youre skilled, I love your`e style.
My fave bass player is Chriss Squire, and I also loved the style of the late Felix Pappalardi...

I would love to have youre bass on one of my tracks, If it ever was possible.
I love bass players who stand out from a crowd, and you my friend certainly do that.

you palying all the stuff on this track, shows that you are an extremly gifted musican, you and Rami are leading the crusade, and I`M a proud follower. :)

OH! I thought drums was your main instrument. Well, that explains why the bass playing blows me away...It also says something about your drumming if I thought that was your main instrument. Killer.

I don't have lyrics, actually; but it's a Tommy Walker, so Willow Creek or PraiseCharts probably has them. I don't need any vocal recording, as this is a backing track for my church's praise team CD, but she's welcome to play around with it for her own enjoyment...

Yes, I'm very much into that "sound prissy" thing; Toto, Steely Dan, Supertramp, Sting, all those with absolutely crystalline production qualities. That's the sound I asipre to..

Thanks bery much on de' bass mon; I'd be happy to cut some tracks for you! It's easy to do, you just give my a scratch track, I'll bring it into my D1600, cut a bass part, and export it back for you, using your track as a timer ensures there won't be any sync issues, and I have a web server to pop the track onto for you to download an uncompressed WAV. Just let me know. I'm busy, so I may not be suprt time-responsive, but I'd love to work with you... My biggest bass influences are Charles Meeks from Chuck Mangione's old band, Will Lee (gee, could you guess?), and other hot studio cats like Abe Laboriel, Chuck Rainey...

Oh, and you guessed wrong on the song. The beat is lifted almost exactly from Mushanga, on The Seventh One. It's a Porcaro trademark rhythm... :)
