I can't believe I just said that and got credited with a post!

"I'm Still Loving Yoooouuuuuuuuu................ Are we online??????????????
"I'm still loving YYYOOOOOOUUUUUUU......"
"Still lovin' the butt pirate"!!!! "WOOOOOOO"!!!!!

Yo, Hyderipper, I know you're new around here, so just FYI...S8-N has this particular persona, and we love him, in spite of it or because of it, we're not sure why. But we love him.

If he was really on your case in a negative way, he would have said something seriously down. But he didn't...that was almost the equivalent of a friendly arm around your shoulders, saying..."hey, dude, we have different tastes".

You should loosen up a bit where S8-N is concerned...seriously. The guy's talented.

And tough, too.

OK! I'm came here for some intelligent input on recording not a chat war. Tough? Am I supposed to kiss his ass now Dragon? Sorry, not my style.

Maybe not kiss his ass Hyderipper, but I am sure that a little salad tossing wouldn't hurt.

GT: This is kinda off the subject, but I played a few original classical guitar compositions at a wedding held at the Wringling Bros. estate in Sarasota a few years ago. Cool place. That was before I moved to Florida.
That has nothing to do with anything. Just a neat fact. I plan to record those pieces if I ever re-master the accoustic guitar.

You guys are funny. Believe it or not you will grow to love the people you initially felt were assholes. If this forum was 100% recording only and no personality I would not come back. Have fun and take it easy its good for ya.

F*ck&n@ god !!! Now we must chage the topic... who is the "owner" of this topic ??? Is this a psycology discussion group ? Cool ! :)

Well... when you resolve to get to the guitar tone conversation, i have some questions... i talked with Charles Thomas, Tony Tutton and other ones... this weekend we will record the guitars... let's see what will be... :)

Hey S8-N,

Yeh Ringling is amazing. I hope you got to see the art while you were there.

Just visited there, after going to Sam Ash to buy a pod, great day all around.

Looks like we Planeteers will feel right at home here!On the guitar tone question I have been micing my Marshall 4001 and Matchless JJ30 in the following way to get a BETTER sound than I hear out of the amp live .I place an AKG4000B set on hypercardoid three feet from the amp and 6" from the floor.I point it off axis at the amp about 45 degrees and point at at the speaker 2" in from the center. That goes to an Avalon737 with mild EQ and comp. Then I take a Neumann TLM103 and put it at ear level(6feet or so) pointed at the amp from 9 feet away with similar settings but with the PHASE reversed on the distant mic. This gives a much fuller sound due to eliminating phase cacellation on the lower frequencies. From there it goes to a Lexicon reverb and then an Apogee PSX100 to 24 bit dig.The trick here is to phase reverse the room( 9'distant) mic...I stil love my sans amp but this setup really rocks if you have good mics, good amps and decent mic pres and effects....
