I'm working with a group wanting to put together a tele-seminar and record it to be mass duplicated and sold. Strictly vocal. Can anyone suggest the best way to record this via the telephone. What equipment or adapters would be needed, software for the computer maybe, etc? I have a mini-cd recorder, CD recorder, cassette deck, and mixer in my home studio. I also have a computer used for mixing, editing, etc.

Is there an adapter that would plug into the phone and then run to the mixer, or is it possible and easier via the computer?

We also have all the mass cassette/CD duplication equipment, so that part is easy since we do that sort of thing every day.

Any help would be appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Gary,

I have a some thoughts for you. I work in the radio broadcasting industry and am well familiar with your needs.

The best quality is ISDN, You would need to rent the facilities at both ends. I think that after you consider the quality, cost, and time investigating all the options you will just come back to this.

I really don't think the PC is the answer for you. You could contact some of the creators of MP3 or other compression / encoding software. I also believe the quality through some sort of net connection will not meet your requirements.

Contact me via email and I would be happy to assist you.

Geoff
