Thanks for the replies. I think I'll take the advise and just treat it like any other electric guitar.
Hi Sennheiser, oh, yea, I forgot to say I would definetly mic the amp. Check out anything by Buddy Emmons for a sound reference. Holy shit, can that guy play
Scary

Especially his jazz.
Where ya been Rick? I haven't seen you around these parts in awhile. Merry Christmas.
Well, I've been here, mostly reading and lurking(god I hate that word

) and working on my little ole "studio". Actually, I've been spending a lot of time on my guitar
playing. I've decided to continue my journey on the 60 chord system again. Must be crazy in my old age. Ha! But ever since that thread by "sweetnubs asshole", I've gained a different perspective on HR, so I don't say much anymore. I'm definitely not a pro, not interested in being a pro and actually wouldn't even like to be around a "pros" world. And if PROREC.COM is an indicator of pro personalitys, then FUCK them. What a bunch of creeps. Give me normal people anyday. I was a musician long enough to see a side of the "music biz" that told me these people were "out there". Too far!

Ha! Thats why I quit, and joined the ranks of the real working class. Thats not to say I don't respect the ones that are helpful and don't consider themself in an ivory tower. I don't consider these people "pro" anyway, cause to me, theres no reference to recording engineers in the PROFESSIONS CODE. They don't have a DIPLOMA from a university that shows they passed the "bar"so to speak. They are no different than the cabinet maker at work who happened to be in a position to get a job on the CNC, and proceeded to get more experience at it than the guy next to him on the bench. That doesn't make him a god. What I don't get. is why the fuck these guys come in here and do that in the first place. Wierd. Go figure. I know one thing. These guys FORGOT where they came from. They weren't born a "pro" and that tells me something.
Anyway, excuse my view, I can't stand eqos like that cause I've seen musicians with the "biggest egos" you can imagine. What a fucking joke those guys were. Or should I say MORON. Most of them couldn't play worth shit anyway.

Well excuse my rant Sennheiser, your one of the few guys that speak to me, and you seem like an OK guy. And BTW, I thought your reply to that asshole was too good. Hey senn, I read your post on the REEL TO REEL tests that producer did. How did he do that? Is that a scope readout or something. I'm no techy, but that was "reel" interesting. Well Michael
Merry Christmas to ya, and post your recording with the steel player. I get my new computer today(its my birthday

) so I can get into the MP3 thing and burn CD's too! Big deal huh? I would rather listen to a cassette, except I am interested in other peoples music, not so much the recordings. Shit, I love Django, and those recordings suck, but I still love em. Theres a sort of "truth" to those that Homerecordings remind me of. Got to get me an old ribbon mic! Modern recordings don't turn me on. Well my verbosity is showing again, so happy holidays and keep on "reelin"!!

(sorry for the long reply)
