Hello,
Could anyone give me any advice on what microphones, dat rec..etc, on how to record lets say an actaull waterfalls, birds, cars, airplanes etc etc, I want to get some equipment to do this but I dont have any idea where to start, I know I need a really good mic(s), and I guess a dat recorder..but which mic(s) would be suitable for this kind of thing.
and....how much will I be spending?!!?
thanks
darwin

why do all this work when you can buy a sample CD of sound effects alredy done for you out of the box.

A condenser mic would be best. You can spend thousands if you got that kind of jing.
I am really wanting to take samples myself. I live in the woods and hear all sorts of interesting stuff. Samples of the timber wolves would be cool. I once saw a picture of a guy who collects samples for a living and he had this mic with a capsule that was damn near the size of a basketball. I wonder what he paid for it, nah, I dont want to know.A portable DAT would be best.
