I got 'em mounted in such a way that it's difficult and time-consuming to remove them from the stands. It's a pain in the ass if I want to de-mount them, but it prevents inventory shrinkage. They'd pretty much have to take the stands with them.

In that case, keep your eyes on the stands. Seriously.

Well I assume you consider drums a "real" instrument.

...and I assume you consider recording a drum track to tape for other instruments to play over okay? Correct.

So if you seperate the kick and snare and highhats........

.......Most of these beats that you hear are programed in real time....meaning someone is sitting there pressing a number of pads (buttons) creating a rythm to form a beat.

Just as a drummer is sitting there hitting his pads to form a beat.


Now if you wanna argue lyrics I won't even contest. I don't agree with 99% of that stuff.

Yes, synths and samplers are instruments. Ask subtractor if it takes any skill to program and play one.

Of course, we also use your "real" instruments. Not that ours are fake or something. If I dropped a Trinity on your foot. . .

Another thing. Only a "real" musician is able to figure out how to use one of these things. My friend knows everything there is to know about computers. He could literally write you letter composed of nothing but C++ or binary cod. But he couldn't understand a damn thing about that Emu machine. Its really not that hard to use if you understand what something like 4/4 means. And you don't even have to count to 4/4, it does it for you.

there are a few groups that are traditional 'bands' one of the more popular are the Roots...let me tell you ?uestlove is as good as it gets on drums!!

I use one and can't imagine why someone with midi capabilities wouldn't... I don't like hip hop at all, but there are, what appear to me to be decent hip hop drum sounds on my zoom.....
