hey... i have cep and cakewalk... i know maybe they arent ur fav... BUT does one program somehow capture a better qaulity then the other? or do all programs get the same quality.... thx

The software doesn't affect how good the recording quality is. The soundcard does. And more specifically the Analog to Digital converters on you soundcard.

CEP is definately my favourite. It's so easy to use.
And Cakewalk is awesome to.

Cool Edit Pro is a REALLY good multitrack recording program, I've used it since I first started. It's never failed me.

yuck cakewalk :D

tukkis, software actually does affect the quality..it could be due to the internal processing, i'm not sure but i know software does sound different. i found out after doing a few test a few weeks ago..
Dp4
Sx1.06
Nuendo 2.01
Samplitude 7.11

the different audio engines sound different.. sx sounded good, but importing the song into nuendo 2, it sounds much better with out changing anything.
samplitude had a real upfront sound where nuendo a dp4 were smoother.. and so on.. i did a few test mac and pc, both with a delta 1010.
some time ago someone had a topic on DP3,Logic,cubase vst32 and logic sounded the best outta the 3 apps...
