I am currently trying to do some recording and am experiencing some problems, so if any one has any pointers, I would appreciate it.
My set up is a 1.4Ghz AMD T-bird, 512Mb RAM, WinME, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. Apps are Sound Forge 5 and Cubase VST.
The way I connect the stuff is a line out from a Marshal MG15RCD to the Line In on the Santa Cruz. I select the Line In as the record source in the control panel for the sound card. I select the default recording input in Sound Forge.
I am trying to record riffs for later cutting up and sequencing in Cubase so I have to run the drum patterns in Cubase at the same time as recording with Sound Forge. The problem is, when I do this and play back the recording, it runs at about 2/3 speed in Sound Forge despite indicating the correct time index.
When I record without using Cubase at the same time, all is well. Surely running both apps does not over tax the PC? And the card is full duplex so the outputs and inputs should not be affected.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
LD
