i got this big problem when i record.

i got a ADK condencer mic' plugged to a Behringer 12 channel mixer, which is plugged to my PC.
I use Sonic foundry Acid pro 4.0 to record my vocals. So i put the beat in one channel in acid, and press record.

The problem i got now is that the beat goes around and records into my vocals. i havnt plugged anything wrong on the mixer or so, cuz it worked fine before i deleted everything on my PC. ive checked the line in/mic input is working and everything...and i cant figure out whats wrong, ive even updated the drivers...

i have no idea what the problem is.

And im sorry for the bad explanation...im swedish :D

Sorry, do you mean you can hear the beat on the track you recorded the vocals on?

Yeah, instead of the beat in one channel and the vocals in the other, i get the beat again in the same channel as the vocals, just like if i was recording it live or something-...

how are you listening to your "beat" while recording the vocals?

Check your Windows mixer to see if it is set to record "What You Hear". If so, just check the Line In option.

Ive even tried to change from line in to the mic input just to see if there was anything wrong with the line in...but the same problem...

what's the output of your soundcard running into?
are your running into your mixer and then out to your monitors?

Jupp, but i dissconnect the monitors when im recording...just in case...

ahhhhhh....i think we're piecing this together

how are you running your microphone to your soundcard then?? sounds like the return from the soundcard (which is your beats) is getting remixed with your microphone and going back out your record outs to the soundcard.

Mic - Mixer - Line in (soundcard)...

the strange thing is that it worked just fine before, so it have to be something in the software...

where are you going out of your mixer? main outs, record outs??

what I think you're doing is this:
Acid Pro Beats-->soundcard out-->mixer in-->mixer rec outs
microphone-->mixer in-->mixer rec outs

i think you have both the microphone and the beats going out the mixer at the same point.

try this. unplug the output of your soundcard from your mixer playback
(which is your beats) and try recording your voice then. you won't be able to hear your beats while you playback for now....but this will at least tell you whether or not your creating a loop through the mixer back to your soundcard.

Okay i tried that, and im not sure but i think it might work...so i plugged the headphones to the Pc instead of the mixer....but now it wont record the sounds from the mixer...although i hear everything through my headphones.

and you took out ONLY your soundcard outs into the INs of your mixer right? and still have the record outs of your mixer going into the soundcard, right??

{sorry if that sounds confusing}
