Recording (non-real) Drums??

Hey guys....

Just got back from a good friends....
He's just started using ezdrummer, and was raving about it.... (he's a guitar player too...)

I played with it a bit, and it seems PERFECT for the way I work. Fast and easy drum tracks, so I can get on with the "fun" stuff... playing guitar, bass and keys!!!

Also, it seems pretty light in the CPU...
I dig the drag and drop thing, and I can easily modify any beats/fills I need...

It seems like a good compromise... I am ordering it this week......

edit: Oh, it sounds (and works) way better than Groove Agent.... probably not as good as BFD or DKFH, but it's way easier, smaller, easier on the CPU, and the sounds really good...

Being a one man studio doesnt HAVE to mean that real drums are out of the question.
I've recorded my kit several times by myself at my place. Takes awhile to set levels but not impossible,..its rather easy really,...and probably not as time consuming as programming.

Just a thought.

LOL!!! If you knew my drumming skills, you wouldn't even suggest it!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus, my studio is pretty much maxed out for room...

Oh, it sounds (and works) way better than Groove Agent.... probably not as good as BFD or DKFH, but it's way easier, smaller, easier on the CPU, and the sounds really good...

I'd have to say, using Groove Agent, BFD, and DKFH (Not superior), BFD Had the best sounds. It all sounds wonky at first, but tweak for a few minutes and you can make the hardest rock set around. It's well worth the $250 or so, better than a pulse drum kit for the same price.

EDIT: Heh, I didn't even noticed you found a working solution! Good luck with it, I've never used it, but if it works for you who gives a fuck what I think

Yup... everything I have heard is that BFD is the shit.... (in a good way)
But it also takes a ton of CPU and disk space.... (and time...)

Also, I REALLY like the drag and drop MIDI loops in EZDrummer... (Did I mention that I am lazy when it comes to drums?? )

I think I'm gong to be pretty happy with it... I'll post back after I get it, and have some time to lay down some tracks....
