Recording, mixing, eq-ing vocals???

Hey I'm a total noob when it comes to recording especially mixing vocals. I just recorded a song and everything except the vocals sounds pretty descent. Can anybody give me some helpful pointers regarding recording, mixing, and eq-ing vocals? I'm going for a hard alternative rock feel. If its helpful I can send you the recording of what I have right now (instruments) via e-mail. I'd greatly appreciate if you could give me numbers (e.g. eq, reverb settings, compressor settings, etc.). Thanks!!!

blending vocals

although there are some presets....in the end it all depend on the vocals themselves.
presets will get you in a general majority area.
