i've done some quick recording tests by reocrding my deluxe reverb amp. Should I assume that since I am micing the amp, I should plug the mic into the vocal/mic1 input rather than the guitar imput? I did it this way, both dry, and using the basic compression effect. Seemed OK. not sure which I liked better yet.

Is this right? I want to get the best possible signal. I also think I may need to get an ART tube mic Pre for better signal, and maybe warmer signal too. anyone agree with this or suggest another way?

lastly I assume that if I mic the amp through the vocal input, that I can split the guitar's signal before the amp, and also go direct to the br-8 guitar input. that way I could get 2 tracks of guit, and mix the effect of the real and the fake amps. Does this make sense?

thanks in advance for your help as always. I have found this forum to be extrememly helpful and I appredciate it.

Hey Katmandude.
Yeah, I agree with Chessrock.
About the ART pre-amp. Yeah, I'd use one. I asked the same question a while back two were recommended to me. I got the ART and it works great.
Beyond that, I'm not experienced enough to offer more advice.
Sounds like you've done some reading.
This place is great for beginners and everyone. What the manuals don't furnish, someone who's been through it before will help.
Later, and keep exploring the ideas you come up with.
