This used to be very simple to set up when I had wave studio back in the day...... But now I have Adobe Audition and a Delta 44 soundcard.. I cant figure out where to set up these things so that if I play sounds on winamp or windowsmedia player I can record them using Adobe Audition.

Everytime I press record even though the song is playing and I can hear it... It's not being recorded on my Adobe Audition.. I looked everywhere for hours but couldnt find the place where i change my settings.. plus i dont know what its called.. maybe routing or something?

thanks

Do you hear the sounds coming out of the outputs on the 44? ie. Do you have your speakers connected to the 44?
If you do .... then you may need to use splitters and patch cables to route the outputs back to the inputs. The splitters will allow you to still connect your speakers.

yes yes..

with wave studio.. i used to have to use a thing called "creative recorder" and set up my stuff in there... like "line in" "aux" "mic" whatever..

but i cant find such a thing with adobe audition... or my delta 44... but this is what i need to locate.

The Delta doesn't have software routing, that's your problem. So you can't set the input to 'Stereo out' or something like that, like you could with lesser cards that the Windows Control Panel can control.

You can directly import most files into Audition, why do you want to pass through the A/D D/A process one more time? Even if it only takes wave files, you just need one conversion, use dmc or even winamp's wave writer to create a wave file and go for it. It'll be a sight better than recording again from the card's output.
