I just have a quick question..if i record all my instruments via midi would i use the eq the same way as i would a live instrument (like bass or piano or drums) once i change it to a wave file..my set up is mainly midi for the instruments and live for the vocals..thanks for the answer in advance..im also new to the site and love the threads that ive read so far..:)

there are never set rules bud... EQ/compress/edit to what your ear dictates.

depends on the midi instrument. some are designed to sound pretty finished, others are pretty raw.

what are you using?

Yes, you would still eq as though the instruments were being played live. The sonic qualities of the output are the same regardless of how the instrument is played.

Sound is sound is sound.

Midi only captures your performance data; what you do with the outputs is up to you...
