Recording drums

No don't use those try a cheap pair of MXl or behringer(c2) small diaphragm condensers for over heads on drums. Or you could go with more expensive Just check around.

Yeah, those won't sound too good. You should use a pair of small diaphragm condensors. You can use large ones too. Just read around about overhead mics.

^^^^^^^this is true you could go with LDC ^^^^^^^

I used to use a pair of Shure KSM109 SDC's as OH's and have found I like the SP B1 LDC's better. I don't have a big mic collection but I DO like these. and at only about $100 a piece...even better. ;)

Ya sure. that's bye one get one free for $50.
So you can do two over heads that will give you a stereo spread in the recording.
You wouldn't be able to do that if you purchase just one overhead Microphone.
Now before you do all of this you are able to provide phantom power to the microphones? If so you will be in a better spot than you where in and where you where going to head towards.

I use a pair of Behringer C2's with decent results. I'm sure the CAD's are pretty much the same. And like someone said before...make sure you'll be able to provide phantom power to the mics.

I had a set of these that came in the CAD seven piece set and, with proper placement they actually weren't too bad. One may do the trick depending upon the room you're recording in and, perhaps how many cymbals you're using. I had a medium sized kit with seven cymbals (including hats) and I found that two was necessary in the large area I was working in.
