Hey Dudes!
So, I what are the disadvantages and advantage (if any) of setting up the drums in the corner of the recording studio?
I know that the rule of thumb is too keep the drums away from the walls, as much as possible. But, I was wondering if there was any advantage to sticking the drums in a corner, . .maybe placing some baffles behind, or in front of the drum to create more isolation, . . or is that going to give you more trouble than its worth?
I have attached some diagrams with a few ideas of different drum placements in the space that I plan to do some recording, . .and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on which setup might work best given the room size and the fact that its going to be a dual purpose room.
Also, depending where I setup the drums, . would I be better off placing a few 4" thick broadband panels in the corners BEHIND the drums, or in the corners INFRONT the drums, . . or would I get better results in using some 2" thick 2'x4' absorbent panels directly on the wall behind the drums?
