recording drum set ?

what would be the right place for placement of a bass drum mic?
In the port hole
Outside the port hole
way inside close to the skin getting hit by the mallet
Which one would give a good punch
I am using a sure bass mic but not the best bass mic
Also for snare snap with a sm57?
I have two condensor mics but not sure if they would be good for snare

Im micing a five piece with 4multitrack capability. So i need the best mix of four mics for a good drum set
Where should placement be for a good tom sound
I would be thankful for the info

Move the mic and use your ears.

More important than exact mic placement is to have a good drum kit properly tuned up in a decent sounding room.
