I just thought I would share my experience and thoughts on direct guitar recording, and this seems an appropriate thread to do so.

Here is an mp3 demonstrating the V-Amp 2. The models used were
the "Brit Classic" and the "Brit Class A" with their standard preset
cab sims. Some Reverb and "Ping Pong" Delay was also dialed up. (The
effects were exaggerated slightly in places so you could hear them)
For the Bass, I accidently hit a factory preset patch (3E) using
the "Tweed Combo" model...I liked it...it's really dirty sounding!

I also have been testing and writing about the PODxt and other Behringer products for the past cople of years that may be of interest as there are many MP3s examples at these pages including examples of digital amplifiers recorded live:

I hope that it can shed some light on direct recording if you are struggling with it....I am an endorsee of both companies, because I believe in the whole digital recording concept, plus I simply enjoy talking about it..very much!
