Hey fellas, is there a way to record direct from your amp to a mixing board, using the the Effect Send, or the Effects return jacks on an amp,

or do you need to have a direct out jack?

It depends on what you want to do with the amp you're using, and the way the amp is set up. Some amps will have the send/receive loop BEFORE INTERNAL PROCESSING and some AFTER. That means that if you have distortion or reverb on your amp, it may or may not be included in the output.

The fx send can be used to record from, and it won't hurt anything to try it. If it sounds good, then do it, but it might not give you the full usage of your amp, especially if your amp has a live level or amp modeling output.

Ok, I see. Thank you.
So, it really depends. This amp is an older no-name tube amp, and only has reverb. Also, I'm pretty sure that the effects send/return loop is between the pre-amp and the power amp~ However, I'm not sure if the send/return loop is before or after the reverb? :o

Since it wont hurt, just try it and you'll find out :). It's definitely before the power amp, but may or may not be before the reverb.
