Recording direct and micing digital piano

Anyone try this with any good results? I have Rode mics NT1a's and NTK. Sounds good but would like to hear from experienced folks.

Try it..isn't gonna hurt anything..See if you can use a small PA/amp to fill the room with sound..Cut back on the digital effects on the program too{reverb ect.}..Good luck

Never tried it, but i have read about people putting a monitor inside a grand piano, and then playing back the recorded digital piano/keyboard through the monitor, and micing the result.

Supposed to give you the realistic sympathetic vibrations of the strings in the piano, as an ambience effect.

I'll bet it would take a lot of twiddling.
