I would like to know if anything exists that would enable me to record the music I have on reel to reel onto cd's. Something I could hook up to a tuner-amp or directly from my reel to reel.
I have not seen anything for sale to record cd's except a cd burner on a computer.
Is there possibly even a junction box that I could even hook up to my reel and record cd's on my computer. Something fairly simple. I am not faimliar enough with computer so I need to have someone do it for me and I get tired of imposeing on them. I have no problem hooking up stereo systems and recording from different forms of audio equiptment.
I just want to be able to record all my reel, cassettes and albums onto cd's. Without having to buy some piece of equiptment that it going to cost a fortune.
Is there any help for me. I am just barely able to know how to send and receive email so it would be helpfull if I could just buy the equiptment and not have to record through a computer.

Thank you for whatever info you may have.

You know, there are a lot of business that make a living from doing this sort of thing. You'd have to pay for it of course, but at least you'd know they're doing it right.

Or would you rather not do something like that?

You could do it yourself. :)

Simply connect your reel to reel, cassette, or phonograph/receiver to your computer.

You'll need a cable to go from the SOURCE to the COMPUTER.

Probably RCA (L/R) male to 1/8" stereo (male)

You also need a "EDITING" program. You can find a freeware/shareware editor at this site...

I hope this helps you. :)

There's plenty of standalone CD burners that work almost exactly like a cassette deck in terms of the controls and the inputs and outputs. They were pricey at first, but have gotten very cheap of late.
