Recording Bass

Hi there,
I have Trace elliot GP7 bass amp witch im using to record my bass.
Im connecting it with motu828mk3 through balanced xlr out on the amp.

Can someone tell me if this is right way to record a bass?
Im recording everything at home. guitars go through isolation cabinet but I would like to avoid
recording bass by mic. it would kill my neighbours.

thanks for any help.

Sure. It's one of three or four normal ways to get the signal.
Also fairly often the amps also have a choice for that send to be direct off the inst input similar to doing a direct box split before the amp (or sometimes right after the pre amp gain) which is good for when you might want the amps eq independent of the record out, and a second selection for after the amps eq.
The electrical outs/directs won't have the filtered tones you're hearing out of the speakers, but it's a perfectly valid and often used alt to micing for bass.

thanks Mixsit.
im really appreciate your answer.
I was recording guitars through simulated speakers from my blackstar and sometimes plugins like guitar rig.
but the signal was losing all dynamics. now I step up little bit and record my guitars through iso box.
it could be nice to have bass sounding ok compare to the guitars.
in case of the bass , could it be similar as emulated speaker compare to mic it up?
