Working on a project which is mostly just a 2 piece band (bass & drums)

I just wanted to post this to get other ideas on how to record the bass to "Fill" the sound on the recording without blowing everything else away (drums ).

I was just going to layer multiple tracks of the bass..
Any other suggestions?

Thanks

This is very interesting to me, as I am playing around with some voice and bass only stuff, so I'm just gonna jump on your bus :)

In the meantime, before somebody who knows what they're talking about comes along, I'll just pass on a suggestion made to me in the Clinic.

Record three inputs - mik'd amp, DI (post EQ) out from the amp, and DI through a box.
Pan the mik'd track dead centre, EQ'd to emphasise the bass, pan the other two out with different EQ treatments to capture the higher harmonics. I think what this gives you is the ability to use EQ/pan techniques to give each instrument its own space yet still get a full bass sound.

Thanks!
Ill give that a try and see how it sounds..
Ill keep you posted.. Ill be finishing up one song within the next day or so..

Ill let you know how it goes..

Thanks again
