Hi Folks

I'm new here and don't know a thing about recording. I bought a Zoom H4 and haven't used it yet. I guess my big question is after I record, how do I post the audio recording on the internet? I'm sure this has been a topic before.... hope someone can direct me to the proper forum.

Thanks

To post you music on the internet, you need to get it into MP3 file form, get the file onto your computer, and upload it to a website such as soundclick.com which allows users to post their recordings for free. Supposedly the H4 will record directly to an MP3, in which case you can connect the H4 to your computer with USB and move the file there that way. The H4 also supposedly can also record to WAV files (better sound than MP3) that can be moved to you computer, and then tweaked up and converted to MP3 by a freeware program such as Audacity. Finally, the H4 can supposedly be used as an audio interface to Cubase LE software (supplied with the H4) running on your computer, in which case you the recording takes place on the computer. I do not know if Cubase LE works, or if it can export to MP3 format.

yeah alot of internet posting has to be a conversion from whatever format you initially recorded from to MP3 formatting....

there are filesharing spots such as z-share.net that will let you actually post Wav's with a streamed preview as well as an option to download......

so of course if you gonna share your music via a file link, just make sure that the site you do it from allows the format you want to use, and you should be set....

beyond that, Tom pretty much shed the sunlight on your yellow brick road....
