This has probably been posted already but I stumbled on it last night in another forum. This is a very good article explaining different approaches to recording the acoustic and even has pictures and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what... oh, never mind. ;)

Excellent, thanks. Nice acoustic guitar sounds are my main obsession. :)

There's a lot of great advice on this forum for recording acoustic guitars. But the pictures there are invaluable and maybe will make some things a bit clearer to people who are having trouble grasping some of the concepts. I just thought it would help. And it just helps to reinforce some of the things that Blue Bear, Massive Mastering and a host of others have said. Kind of like a teacher drawing on a blackboard. I know illustrations certainly help me! When they mentioned X-Y, etc., I had no idea what they were talking about!

Kevin, do you have any clips to share...

Here's some of a friend...

Dave Sherrep

These were recorded using two e22S SDCs both 15" one pointed at the 14th fret and one over the shoulder pointed at the bridge...

Very timely for me too. I just got my mixer and even recording with one mic it has substantially improved my tone. Now I can pout the stereo thing into practice! :D
