I've just got my home studio off of the ground and I recorded some guitar clips last weekend which turned out pretty nice I thought, but I'd like to add a Room mic to the mix and I'm not sure about phase issues or any other issues I may not be aware of...
For my initial tracks I was using a 2x12 combo with two different speakers in it. I mic'd each speaker with a different mic (SM57 & e609 Original). I thought this sounded real good for what I was going for at the moment, but I was thinking of adding a Room mic (SP B1 or SP B3) to give it a differnt flavor.
One Newbeish question I had was that I don't know if the original tracks I recorded were in "Stereo" (Meaning that the SM57 was on one side, and the 609 was on the other, or if they were both equally distributed across the speakers = Mono?) I'm very new to this software and PC recording as a whole, so I was just glad to be able to get somthing down on tape...uh, I mean disk.
Here's a link to the clips, maybe someone could tell me if it's in stereo or mono? I'm thinking in mono.

If anyone is interested in the "Details" of these clips, all that information can be found in the first post of this thread (Things like mic placement, hardware, software, settings.....)

Anyway, for this next round of clips, I was wanting to do basically the same thing except maybe pan the 57 and 609 L/R, and then add the room mic accross the mix.........Does this sound like a good idea for a nice full rich sound?
I was reading the "Panning Distortion guitar" thread and thought that since I was using two different mics and speakers, this may fall under the catagory as "true stereo"??
