What do you think ?
I couldn't believe the style of music that he was into.
I didn't really do any editing on it so any advice would be great.
Personally I think that the guitars overlap or are too busy at some points but maybe I just don't get this style of music.

Just to clarify - The 15yr old is the one playing all of the instruments.

Was he by chance incredibly stoned?

It is "interesting", I guess kinda in the way that driving by a traffic accident in interesting.

Don't get me wrong, for a 15 year old, he's pretty damned good, but I'm pretty sure he had to have been stoned.

Wow, that's pretty sloppy. The guitar solo's in a different key than the rhythm section!

Not bad playing and well recorded. Sounds though like he was just experimenting with multitracking, wandering from one idea to the next. I think at around 4:00 there are too many guitars. The funky guitar in the beginning and the free improvisation at 1:30 sound pretty good for a 15 yr old. His playing gets a little sloppy with timing occasionally (drums at 3:10), and maybe it could be shortened to remove some parts and tighten up the flow of the thing. The guy's pretty good.

Thanks for the comments.
He recorded 4 guitar tracks altogether. Not stoned.

This was the first time he recorded so he probably wanted to throw everything he had into one song.

I thought it was a great song from a 15yr old, the kids got skills they just need some work. It was refreshing to here something besides Screamo which I have to record again on the 4th !! I will not subject anyone too that.

Man I wish I was 15 and had skills like that and no distractions (wife, kids, mortgage, job) .

Hi

Very good skills for that age. It's refreshing to see a 15 years old experimenting musically and not obsessed by commercial music.

/Jack Real.

Heh, fun song :D

The rhythm groove in the beginning is straight from some (more famous) James Brown song :)

The soloplaying isn't quite yet there IMO.

Overall the tune kinda reminds me a bit of Frank Zappa :P

The kid is pretty good for 15. I've heard a lot of "Free-Jazz" style guitarists playing similar 'off-key' solos in the late 60's.
