Whats the best speed to record? I have a TasCam 424 and it has three speeds

Normal
High
Slow

What are the differnces?

Thanks

high speed will get ya the best quality....

a pretty good example of the answer to this question is video cassette recorder (VCR) speeds - SP, LP, EP - the faster the tape is rolling over the tape-heads (SP), the better the quality of a recording you will get (and the more tape you will use...)

yeah, basically the higher the speed the better the recording (less hiss, more definition) but uses more tape up.

Yo Fish of non savory condition:

The "fasta the betta" for fidelity. When I used a Tascam 488 I always ran the recording speed on its fastest setting.

But, after that, the MD8, and now the DAW Yam 2816 -- I don't need to mess with speed but many, many, other settings.

Enjoy,
Green Hornet:) :D
