well the new F1 season has started, and i decided to update mixes of my 'F1 Trilogy', the first of three, with the song 'Silverstone', which is the about the british grand prix.

this is a completely new mix from scratch.
i'm trying to create imagery of intense high speed car racing with the mix.
tell me i did ok!! LOL

Nice playing!

First impression is that it sounds overall a bit dry for this style. Also, the transition at 2:58 sounded fairly abrupt. Sounds as though the downbeat was maybe a bit late or something there? Or maybe the drum fill leading into it is rushed. Something sounds not smooth there.

Anyway, cool tune, some nice guitar tones, and nice playing!

Bit of a slow burner this one. Gets more engaging as it goes along. Well played and nice tones. Did you mic an amp for this one?

thanks for listening beagle~!

trying to channel that racing energy...
if you know about silverstone, especially the really WET one they had a few years back, there is a lot of stop and go, so that's in there too!
thats how the race actually went, abrubt stops, push and pull of the actual race times, because of the intense rain.
it's a thing. LOL

hey bulls, thanks for listening!
yea, slow burner, that sounds about right.

the silverstone race i'm referencing in this song, was a really wet one...
the start was f'd up, the middle was f'd up, the other middle was f'd up...

LOL, you get the picture.

no amps.

just this:

Sounds killer. Always such great guitar tones. There are places where I wish that snare had some verb on it - if not the whole thing.

But yeah - had it cranked here and it so sounds strong.

howdy ho porterhouse! heh..
thanks for listening. all those guitar tones, right out of a Strymon Iridium pedal.
fun unit to play with.
that drum track, is an older drum track that i had written years ago in Sony Acid,
which is LONG gone from my system, so i kind of have to live with it, if i want to use it.
i tried a verb across the entire drum kit, and that ACTUALLY WORKS! LOL,
but it made the track sound a bit too spacy, and i wanted it dry, so the impact of the instruments would come across.

another great race this weekend....

i should write another one...
wonder what the angle should be...
the start?
the pitstops?
the overtakes?
or just the plain ole velocity?!

Cool tune. Very well composed, played and mixed. The funky feeling kind of reminds me of Chickenfoot. I can totaly hear Sammy Hagar belting it out and Michael Anthony laying down some backing vocals on this one.

hey La9, so glad you got to hear this.
chickenfoot, that's satch's band, right? haven't really listened... i like about half of what hagar does a lot, and don't like the other half!! LOL, for being as old as he is, he is still kickin' @ss.

this song is part of a trilogy, there are two other F1 themed tunes on the bandcamp site as well, if you are interested in more hard rock instrumentals
