record button behaviour

A mystery to me: in some projects, the record button starts the recording. In other projects, I have to press play after recording to start. Explanation anyone? I think it's that old, converted projects behave differently, but I don't know how to alter this.

Seems a little odd to me. Never had this i just press record normally and it works.

It's the "External Sync" function on the transport.

Press "T" to activate/deactivate.
