Hello all

Been recording my kids band with M-Audio fast track and 2 cheap Nady CM-88 cardioid condenser mic's in ORTF, just so they can hear them selves play.

Now a co-worker asked if i would record there rehearsals.

I was thinking of upgrading these cheap mics for something a little better.

Be kind, not looking for $600.00 mic's just for rehearsals

Thanks Guys

Rode and Studio Projects would be an improvement
naiants are nice too

i'll chime in for the rode nt5s also. i have been using these for the last year for drum overhead and they sound pretty damn good. also if you look you can find them used for around 250/pair.

Welcome to the top of the slippery slide of buying gear, a complete studio within a year I bet ha ha ha.

Cheers

Alan.

p.s the H2 is a good suggestion from Darrin.

I use a pair of AKG C2000B's for that, and they work very well. They also split the difference between really cheap and really expensive. If you consider them, try to find deals which include the H100 or H85 shock mounts, which are among the best shocks on the market. Note- C200B, *not* C3000B.-Richie
