looking to buy some monitors for home setup. im using a firestudio project. it says to plug monitors in the main outs (these are jack inputs) most monitors i have looked at use rca to hookup (none i have seen have jack inputs)

what shall i get, can i work round this?

cheers

Every modern monitor that I know of uses 1/4" jack inputs and/or xlr. I'm not aware of any using rca ins.

most budget ones i have looked at are rca or digital input. like the edirol and cakewalk models. i only have about £120, just lookig for something that will playback sound using 1/4" inputs

any idea

thanks

you could try looking at something by krk... my krk5's have both I think I picked up the pair for around 200usd a few years ago.. or you could always use 1/4in to rca adapter:)

I have KRK5s that have both type of inputs. So do my Adam A7s. I see the KRKs on sale all over the place recently, and they're not bad. Adapters would work :) - but you really want to stay balanced if you can - it would suck to pick up hum on your monitor cables.
