I'm tired of the drum sounds in my Digitech RP50 box and want to move up to something a little more realistic sounding, and controllable, but without spending major bucks. What are the best deals in drum machines currently available? I prefer a standalone machine (non-software) that I can use with my Fostex MR-8 recorder.

(edit) - after posting the above, I went out on the web and looked up the Alesis SR-16. Can anything beat it at it's price point? http://www.zzounds.com/a--2676837/item--ALESR16

Alesis

Buy a used SR16 on Ebay for about $50.00
The Alesis Sr18 is the newer (better) version.
If you are using a MIDI sequencer and do not need the beat-box to do pattern editing/song creation then get a used Alesis D4 or Dm5 from Ebay.

No, I do not work for Alesis!
