recommend me a cheap headphone that actually last!

I have been using a cheapo Yorkville headphone for tracking and monitoring purposes for the past 3 years now. Now the ear pads have started to crack and leave foam bits around my ear everytime I used them....

Can you recommend me a good durable replacement? it'll be use for tracking and monitoring (esp. at night) and good enough for some critical uses like applying effects to a track...

Budget is sub-$50. ( I'm in a third world country, remember?)

so far, considering AKG K-55.
