A need an all-in-one recorder with 16 tracks that is relatively easy to navigate through. I don't have time to learn a bunch of good outboard gear, so I'm just looking for something decent that will allow me to record without having to bounce too much, and includes some effects. I want an all in one unit, rather than software on my PC

Any thoughts?

Get yourself a copy of this month's Electronic Musician, they do a shootout of standalone DAW's

As fellow forumites probably know by now that I am a fan of the Boss BR 1600CDR, very compact, everything you need to get recording good quality CD's.
If you are interested in some of the functions and features of the Boss BR1600 I posted some info in this newbies forum under "Which to invest in?" for brianofbowie.
