Recommend 8 channel interface

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend an 8 channel (XLR in) interface with decent mic pre's that would be compatible with ProTools 7.4 LE?

My brother uses an older ProTools version, 6.4.1 and I believe that anything newer than 7.4 will not be compatible with his.

I want to be able to bring a session from my home studio to his studio and vice-versa.

Thanks for the suggestion, however according to MOTU's website their "8pre" audio interface can't be used with ProTools.

Thank you also for the info. I have the Digi 002, so you are right this would work. If I can pick up a used DigiMAX D8 for a good price, this could be my solution!

I have heard that the m-audio 2626 has great mic pre's, but doesn't support older versions of ProTools, only 8 LE.

Can anyone confirm that?

Protools is Digitech so anything by them would work...

You would think so, wouldn't you? However, I posted the question on m-audio's forum anyway because I heard somewhere that it won't support any ProTools versions older than M-Powered 8. So we'll see what the "horse's mouth" has to say.

Thanks for the compliment on the username...I'm a huge BTO fan. BTW, did you hear the exciting news. A new project called Bachman & Turner, with a new Cd to be released soon and tour dates!!!
