Ok, I splurged on Reason 2.5 a couple years ago, and it was so "out there" for me, I never really delved into it.

I come from the "strictly gear" mindset. I only used a MPC and a bunch of MIDI equipment previously, so when I got Reason I was lost. My main problem, is I don't know how to sequence with it. The sequencer in it was so far off from the MPC, I had no idea how to use it. Then I copped a version of Fruity Loops for like, $40 on sales at Guitar Center, and started working with that. It was easy, and straight forward...

I know Reason has a lot more power than FL Studio (I've recently upgraded to 6.0 XXL) So I'm wondering if anyone here, or a group of you, could make a "Reason Tutorial" on how to get started, and do the basics with the program.

Like, I can create a drum pattern... but I have no idea how to set it up in the sequencer correctly. But then again, I can rewire it to Cubase if I want... or if it's easier to sequence it there.

Anyway, I'm just basically lost on that prog. FL Studio is madd easy for me... Reason, not so much. Any help is appreciated.

wish I could help..dont use software to make beats..sorry..

i think jug can help you alot on this..check out some of his beat making videos on his site..i thnk two of them are hime makin a beat in reasons

all you gotta do is put the L and R locators where you want the pattern that you just made to be and then take the pattern that you just made and right click anywhere in redrum and click copy pattern to track. you just gotta make sure that redrum is clicked on on the left side of the sequencer or else it will copy it to the wrong track.

just using redrum is simple, for me it was even easier than fruity loops because of the way its layed out. youll see that you got your moneys worth out of reason.
