ok im learning to use reason and i have a question......

how do i track out each instrument is reason like i would in FL as .wav files i mean i guess i could go thru and mute each instrument and export the indivisual joints as audio files but i figure there must be a more technical way to do it.....

also is it possible to apply flam when i do my drums with my midi keyboard.... i need this for drums rolls and wat not....

using redrum for drums?

the way to do it; you open reason as a plugin in an audio file correct? so you have your corresponding midi file too.

set the output of the track with reason on it, to a bus. make another audio track and make its input the same bus. solo the audio track and just the midi track you want to have in the track, hit record.

thats the only way i can think of, thats how i do it.

i may have lost you i think. i dont use reason as a standalone, i use it inside protools, so i'm not sure exactly.

Yeah Reason's more powerful IMO when it's rewired into a better sequencing program I rewire it into Audition or Cubase depending where I am.

Fyre, Reason is basically a midi sequencer/sampler only, it can't sequence audio/mixdowns/.wavs etc... (what ever you want to call them...lol) at all. So your on the right track as far as exporting, solo 1 track export, solo another export and keep repeating.

Now if you rewire it into Audition 2.0, you can take the midi and bounce it as audio to another track and you'd have the .wav easily. That's why most people don't use Reason as a stand alone, it's just that much more flexible.

Oh and with flam, you can use redrums flam. For rolls my keyboard has a Roll button on the pads that I can use to do Rolls. I don't use the redrum sequencer at all.

yea i think ill be usin it rewired into FL..... or naw AA might work well to i just gotta figure out how

I also have a question regarding Reason3.0.
Ok my buddy has FL STUDIO and there is a Option that is Called "Piano Roll"
He bascially take the snare and does a Roll , but way faster and the Key Goes up n Down, Sorta like all the New Hip Hop stuff.
He Also Has his Hi Hats Real Choppy and they speed up and slow down how can i do this in Reason????

thats basiclly what my question is.... i kno its possible using redrum with flam..... but i only use redrum to load my drum sounds and play them out on my midi keyboard...... so i dont kno how to do it that way...... i think im a just stick wit using reasonrewired into FL

Look for the Redrum Tricks!!

If you want to do drum rolls in reason very fast, there are 16 buttons for each group of measures (the ones you click to hear each sound) On top of each one there are little lights. Click those lights above each not you want to roll or "flam" then go to the right and adjust the flam spacing or timing. You can do this for every (all 16 or more) buttons to get the roll you need. And remember to adjust the velocity of each one or draw it in to get that hip hop sound. Hope this helps. hit me up if you can't figure it out.
