Hey brought this up before, but has any drummers played with this new reason refill? I think its pretty amazing.

jeez nobody? I see threads talking about getting "fat sounding drums", this is a quick solution. Pro results in a 1/10th of the time.

im not sure what you mean, you mean the refill sounds fat or you process the kit?

I just meant that these drums are incredible all in all. Theres over 50 kits in the refill package, and the response that they have on a controller and the final product after recording and not much tweaking is unbelievable. Not to discredit anybody on the board, but I've heard higher quality drums out of this then most of the recordings ive heard on here.

Maybe higher quality in the SOUND, but how was the feel? Did it feel real? I've never known a drummer to play with absolutely perfect timing all the time. How was the dynamic response? Can it automatically create a slight variation in velocity between each snare hit?

The feel is unbelievable. Some of the kits have 800 samples for ONE set. that means that you have something like 30 samples per drum piece. You have to hear it to believe it. Its called hypersampling, the next wave of keyboard triggering.

I love Reason but most ReFill packs are way too expensive for me.

I dont know, I think 100 dollars is an incredibly low price for sounds of this caliber. 50 studio quality triggerable kits seems a hell of a lot cheaper then most of the stuff thats out there. I heard BFD before and i think reason drums 2 stands up to it with ease.

how do u make rolls with the reason drum kit? how about mesh sounds?

thanks

I dont know how familiar you are with reason, but basically you can either draw them in the sequencer, play them, or if you are lazy, you can import midi templates of rolls, which reason drums has plenty of.
