This one has stumped me - any help out there?

I am using Cubase sx with Reason 5 on a vista pc. The problem is when I plug in my midi keyboard (Yamaha prtable grand NP-30). When I load reason stand alone all is fine including the midi keyboard. Again, Cubase is fine using the keyboard. But when I rewire and open Cubase then Reason it states that the Midi device cannot be used as it is being used by another programme.

Any help would be fantastic!

Record the midi in cubase and rout it to the reason device.

Thanks for the video tutorial idea though.

Thanks for the reply........Yeah I have done that and it does work but the original problems still stands. There must be a simpler option.

Naw it's actually a better way of working because cubase has infinitely better midi editing options than reason.

Open the programs up as usual with reason rewired

Turn your midi keyboard off and the on again, it should now be working with reason

not figured how to get it back to Cubase yet though (without closing the programs and opening them again)

This works for me but i haven't tried it on any other set-ups
