so today was my first tracking day with my new, home made pc running reaper 1.x. im getting more and more used to the interface and im actually coming to like it and it wasnt too hard to get used to. freeze would be nice, but yeah the app runs with almost no cpu usage anyways so its not even a big deal. reaper is by far the best shareware multitracker/sequencer out there. bar none. i even picked using it over the cubase le that came with my interface.

This sounds really interesting. I have the dl and soon I'll be setting up a trial PC to test it and some games and some hardware out.

thanks for the link

For the life of me I couldn't get it to work without coming back in on a new track, is that how its suppose to work?

It all depends how you set it. Im not sure on that particular unit, but with a UAD-1 or powercore, it shows up just as any VST would, whether in inserts or aux send, whatever

Oh and is there a render in real time so my external effects put thru the MX200 actually show up on my completed wav file?

Yessirree bob! One of the really cool things about reaper is its routing and recording flexibility. You can record the input of a channel or the output of it! Also you can save the master as you play back, for realtime renders.

Oh Mr Pipeline, when you gonna give us more videos? :D

Just wanted to say excellant job on the videos, easy to understand if not a little fast in some parts but that is what rewind is for.

cant keep up! Some of the users are starting to build JS plugins, as you can program them inside reaper in realtime. Scott Stillwell's drum trigger plugins are a great example. If you ever wanted to give plugin coding a try, go for it!

Metronome has a lot of good new options, as that seemed one of the few longstanding compliant areas
