reamping feedback?

I got into a discussion with a friend on whether or not feedback is possible when reamping. I told him that if you ran your line through the di box and had it split to go to your amp at the same time the amp will still vibrate the strings so those vibrations will be sent through the di signal to be recorded as well. I just need to confirm this and i figured you guys knew.
