Realtime effeects?

I'm thinking about getting a VF80. It has guitar amp sims and guitar effects. My questions are:

1/ Do you think (or know) if the effects are real-time, that is, I can hear them as I play (not rendered later)?

2/ If they are real-time, could I play through the recorder and output to an amp, in effect, using the recorder as an effects unit?

Any help would be appreciated, and thanks to those on this forum who've helped me before. I'm getting there...but slowly.
 
VF08 effects

Hey Rock...I own the predecessor to the VF80, the VF08. The effects in that one are, indeed real time. Hence, I'd assume the VF80 is also real time.
 
Hey Rockfish - I sent you an Email before reading this thread. In answer to your second question here I think you could probably use the desk as an Effects Unit, if that's what you were after.
