I'm really new at this stuff. I'm actually a transcriptionist for a court reporter and we need a way she can play her tapes into the pc, then copy them back to another tape recorder. I think she is just wanting to copy them. I think we already have everything she needs just hooking the tape recorder up to the pc to record the sound. We don't know how to do that. I'm sure it's the line out but that goes to the speakers, does she have to unhook them or could she use a splitter? Same with the line in, can we put the tape player on the same in-port as the microphone?

Weird, when I worked for LA Superior many many many moons ago the court reporter's keyboards interfaced directly with their computers.

That is not the problem she wants an extra copy to send to me, we work over the internet, I'm in MO and she's in OK with both of us with tapes we eliminate a lot of problems in transcribing. Can get it done quicker as well.
