Really good Wireless mics?

Hello fellow recording geeks.

Along with recording, we (as in, my band) plan to do some energetic live shows that will require a lot of movement, and for some of the stuff I'm planning, I'm looking around for a durable, reliable, reputable, wireless mic. Has to have great signal quality (crispy vocals) and can take a little thrashing.

Err, not that I'd be a moron and throw it around, but you never know when there might be an occasional/accidental drop or slip.

Please advise and stuff. Price? Well, pretty reasonable (staying below the $450 range).

Thanks!

I couldn't give you specific deatils though when I want something new I usually look on the internet and search for my favourite bands. If you put the time in you should be able to find out what mic's they use; they may be a bit more expensive but they will be repitable and you may also be suprised.

any thing in the new sennheiser lineup is amazing. i don't think you can get what you're looking for in that price range. Cheap wireless mics have bad frequency response, they cut out and they fall apart. buy something more expensive and it wont let you down

Bad news Robbypoo, I have to agree with Cave Dweller. Buy a cheap FM mic and you'll regret it--it simply won't hold up to performance demands. Been there done that, got the T shirt.

Hey maybe I can get some help along similar lines.. I'm not so concerned about the price.. maybe under $750 is fine, but I need a head-mount microphone that I can use on stage.. (think, maddonna).

I need a good quality mic, so it will probably be a small condenser.. and it ultimately has to be wireless, so if the mic itself is not wireless, I'll need a belt-clip transmitter as well.

It would be good if it has an in ear monitor, or if it stays out of the way of my ear so that I can throw in some earbuds, and I also need another transmitter for my bass.

Any suggestions?

BTW.. my voice produces high SPL's!.. it's gotta take a little beating.

ear buds?

Could someone please tell me what "ear buds" are exactly? Because if they're monitors which go into the ear, I need some for a children's production I'm doing...the kids...or at least the soloists...need monitors, and I was thinking ear monitors as opposed to stage monitors might be good.

Also, can anyone advise what I might look for with regard to a wireless mic...or three, actually...for the same production purposes? Anyone know, for example, if inexpensive mics would be sufficient if they're not going to get a lot of use, or is the signal just too nasty...further, if I were able to rent some, advice on what to rent in particular would be very much appreciated.

Thanks! :)

Julia
