reality check...please

Wow I just went to get a Delta 66 and Omni, starting from scratch, figured that was the weakest point (using an Audigy 2). I have an Ibanez 560, an Edirol PCR 30, and am running Sonar.

But as a guitar player, I have been thinking, "modeling"...that's new, you mean create algorithyms and stuff...from computations on the amps themselves...hummm?"...so I was gonna get a Pod XT because that was computer-based, and in my price range. And it seemed "good enough".

I went to the store I used to work at just now (late 80s to early 90s), and they punched me up in their database (I was there!), and then one of the guys I used to work with walked out. Wild.

Long story short, I got a Mesa Boogie Recto Preamp, and a TC G-Force with the money I was gonna buy on the Delta66/Omni, plus I owe them for 12 months.

I think I'm happy:) I know I'm broke. I definitely don't have a good soundcard yet, but life SURE IS GREAT!!!

I just have to remember what Lydian and Locrian sound like...the G-Force is diatonic:):):) so cool:) Flat 5, Sharp 4, cool.

Ya, no Sonar here, that's giving me brainfarts, but I'll get it...eventually:)

Take it easy, Shawn... Audigy2 is indeed GOOD soundcard in your hand...:) You're one of those who knows how to squeze the best out of it... :) Post the tunes when you get there...

I just took a week off work, ya, vacation in April. I'm nuts. LOL. My goal is to get ONE tune down, start to finish:)

Without Fruity Loops...he he...tall order.

I heard the TC G-Force at a demo last year and thought it was magnificent:) Lots of time to upgrade your card:)

This amp/processor sounds wild. Unfortunately, I think it's screwing up my speakers, which are 5.1, with some of the delays/panning, it cacks out like crazy on the 2 rear ones. Think I'm going to have to take them off for now, and hook up the Audigy2's line out to my stereo, and use the aux of my stereo for now.

Monitors are definitely in order; soundcard seems to be holding up fine.

Get the best you can afford. And the biggest, you need to move some air to mix/master properly.
