Ah... that dubious sense of achievement when you graduate from knowing everything to the realisation that you don't know enough....

If you ever stop having that feeling occasionally, that's when it's time to quit.

I realize everyday that I dont know a single thing. Right after that I pay all of my bills and put money in the bank. I normally do better when I think I have crossed lines that should have never been crossed and do things that I had yet to do.

Use your creativity and imagination and run. The status quo will hurt you. Trust me. You may not make an impact today, but tomorrow you will rock the world.

By the way, if you are in your mid 30s, listen to those that are 10 years younger. Their ideas are not developed, but they are in tune with what is to come. They are the catalyst for tomorrow.

I listen to a lot of music that I would not normally touch just for the ideas that you get from it. Mostly the recording quality. But after 8 years of recording I am just learning how much I don't know. Its fun tho... wouldn't give it up for the world. But sometimes I wish I knew it all and could just use that knowledge instead of learning how much I don't know and having to become aquainted with new stuff. When you do that, something else comes along.... *sigh*

"All I know is that I know nothing." - Socrates
I think if you keep this in mind, you'll always push yourself to learn more and improve :D

I think that is a ridiculous saying. I get kind of irritated by these daft statements that people make, masquerading as some deep wisdom. Instead of spouting out nonsense like "All I know is that I know nothing", why not just say "despite all that I know, there is still much for me to learn" ?
Even a baby doesn't know 'nothing' !

Logically, what's the point ? If you learn lots but then conclude that you know nothing, sooner or later you'll realize learning something is a bleedin' waste of time as even with knowing something, you still 'know nothing'. :D

I was only saying that yesterday I knew everything. Today I don't know enough....

My father has the same problem but he has alzeimer's.....:D

All that there is to know, is already inside of me

Where ?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?

Yes, logically it makes no sense, but it isn't meant literally though. I think in context he was talking about how a big part of wisdom is learning how much there is to know, and therefore how little you really know by comparison. This is more or less what the OP is saying I think.

Since he wasn't speaking English, there is always the possibility that something was altered slightly in translation too, but I kind of doubt it with such a simple statement.

It's pretty funny to hear Socrates referred to as daft...he is kind of respected in his field...;)

He also said, "death may be the greatest of all human blessings", which, while not relevant to this thread, is pretty hardcore nonetheless. Really uplifting.

I reckon he was a super duper con artist in his day, like the guys that make the emperor's new clothes. :D

I rest my case !

The more I learn, the less I know.

You ever notice that the less someone knows about a certain subject, the more of an authority they try to come off about it. And the more someone knows about something, the more humble and removed they will seem to be in group of people discussing it.

Weird. Wild.
