How do i rip with cooleditpro from winamp (say i want to rip a stream from shoutcast)? Isn't this also card recording directly from the soundcard? Thanks.

I think you'll have to give some info about your sound card before anyone can help you out.

what I do...

to

A. easliy rip audio from DVD's

B. sample a loop

C. basically get a song that other wise should only be able to be streamed:

---Purchase a small, 6" wire from radio shack that has two 1/8" jacks on it.

stick one end into the headphone jack....and WEEEEE!...
the other into the mic jack....

press record in CEP (double check the mic volume input in Settings>Windows recording mixer>advanced)

then play on the stream.....

very illegal...(maybe) but as always...

*FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY

lol

Line out to Line in is better if available, and be sure to check your levels so you don't fry anything. Also, most sound cards currently can record from anything you hear by opening the windows mixer [strat>run>"sndvol32" (ok)], hitting options>properties, choosing your sound card & recording, hitting ok, and choosing "Stereo Mix" "Loopback" "Monitor Output" or something similar.
