just wandering if i can ask your opinion on a problem i had today,
was asked to do a session an other studio, so i grabbed a few mics that i thought i might need and headed off. Took my re20 and d112 with me, amongst others...
we set up the re20 on bass guitar,,
now, granted there was a bass fuzz/distortion pedal in use, the bass itself had a brave amount of fret buzz, and the chap was keen on belting his part out, but anyway,
there was a buzz/rattle kind of sound coming from the bass track recording, but only on certain low notes.
the buzzing sound wasn't audible in the room, but in the recording it kinda sounded a bit like a loose grill on the amp, or like,,a hole in the speaker?
....so we switched mics to the d112...
from then on we had no problems with buzzing, which leads me to ask,
can there be something wrong with my re20, that's only triggered by certain frequencies??
thanks in advance all!!
